One of my favorite prompts is the CRIT framework. The real strength is in the approach - it flips the roles with AI. Instead of you trying to think of everything upfront and craft the perfect context, you ask the AI to be the expert and interview you. This often brings up things you wouldn't have thought to include.
I use this for almost everything - technical decisions, personal finance, travel recommendations.
The structure stays the same, only the content changes.
Example
Notice the phrase: "ONE BY ONE so that I do not get overwhelmed and you have a chance to change your next questions."
This prevents the AI from dumping all questions at once. Each answer shapes the next question, creating a genuine conversation.
## CONTEXT
I need to pick a technology for building a cross-platform app.
Our team has 4 developers, all with web background (React/TypeScript).
We need to ship on iOS and Android.
Timeline is 3 months for MVP.
## ROLE
You're a senior mobile architect who has shipped cross-platform apps
using various frameworks.
## INTERVIEW
Ask me up to 3-10 clarifying questions ONE BY ONE so that I do not
get overwhelmed and you have a chance to adjust your next questions
based on my answers.
## TASK
Help me choose the right cross-platform technology for our team
and project. Consider our constraints and give me a clear
recommendation with trade-offs.
I don't remember where I originally found this framework. If you know the source, let me know and I'll update this post with proper credit.
